Yes, Kristy is having a great time! We went to the State Fair on Saturday (Molly came too) and had a super day - the girls really outdid themselves eating those Navajo tacos! This week has been kind of rainy, and the girls have just been hanging out while I have been busy getting ready for our weekend. Tonight we are packing (well, we will be as soon as I get off the computer) for our weekend road trip to Arizona. We are leaving first thing tomorrow morning and won't be back till late Monday night. I'll be back here to report on our trip on Tuesday; if I can get to a computer at my Mom's, I'll check in probably on Saturday night. Stay safe, all you Gulf Coast people - see you next week! By the way, how did your visit with Katherine from this board go? Didn't she visit from Denmark to student teach in Utah?

One last post and then I must go to bed, or I'll never be able to help drive tomorrow!

Kathrine did come to Utah and stayed with us for nearly a month at the beginning of the summer while she did 3 weeks of student teaching (our elementary schools here are on a year-round schedule). We absolutely loved her! It was wonderful having her here - she felt like another daughter joining our family, and we miss her dreadfully. We kept very busy after school and on weekends, going to as many places as we could throughout northern Utah. We drove up through the canyons and hiked down to the river running through one of them - even saw a deer cross the trail ahead of us as we were heading back up to the car. We spent one Saturday shopping and sight-seeing in Park City, another one touring the BYU campus, and another one visiting an old restored pioneer village and then driving to the beach to go wading in the Great Salt Lake as the sun was setting. We visited my sister's home on their property in a little town in a beautiful valley up in the mountains, and spent several days seeing the sights in downtown Salt Lake City - we even met Lisa (LaceyJane) and spent part of an afternoon downtown with her. [img]smile.gif[/img] We went to the mall, and ate at typical American fast food restaurants. We dressed dollies, did their hair, and watched videos with them on our television. Having Kathrine here in our home was a great experience for our family, and we came to love her as one of our own. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] We long for the day when she can come back to us again, or we can go to visit her in Denmark.

Thanks so much for posting about Katherine's visit. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. I thought about her a few times. I remember when she was conflicted about her teaching career and if it was right for her.
